The safest place to sit on an airplane is the back of the airplane, but the strongest part of the plane is near the wing section.
Cell phones and flight- It is said that cell phones interfere with the communication and navigation equipment. This is a fact that some have argued, but for safetys sake, turn them off before boarding.
The air on an airplane is better circulated in the flight deck and first class area, so if you are afraid of picking up something infectious, pay the extra to sit in these sections.
As far as turbulence is concerned, while on my last flight to Vegas, we only experienced very mild turbulence twice. The turbulence could be compared to hitting a bump while riding in a car.

Great advice.....
as for the cell phones...you can keep them on till they close the cabin doors, and they will tell you when you can turn them back on...it's usually when you land.
turbulence isn't too bad going over there...seems everytime i have flown...we get it when somewhere between arizona and Vegas...something about mountains

Lol, you pretty much should do what they ask, I mean who wants to get thrown out of a place for noncompliance at 20,000 feet?

The very thought of flying in an airplane freaks me out completely! If I were flying and we hit turbulence, I am sure I would completely lose it! People would think I was nutty and I would have to be restrained I am sure lol! I like my feet on the ground!

You got a point there IluvVegas. The drop may get to me in the first 5 seconds or so, but it's not the drop that bothers me.
It would be the part where I get pushed/sucked out while the aircraft is traveling at some 300+ miles per hour, that would worry me. :D

I am with you vegasrocks, I dont think I could ever get on board of an airplane. One little bump and I would also proably find myself in restraints or something,LOL.
I think it is best that I keep my rear end on earth where it was meant to be rather than up in the sky thousands of feet.
In a way I would like to try it, but then again I am also terrified about it, so I guess I will just remain on earth.
