I was reading some different tips on traveling to Las Vegas and we have all talked about how the weather is out there. From what I read though, Vegas weather isn't all that bad. During tha warm months the heat hovers around 100 degrees but there is no humidity. Humidity is what makes it so unbearable. It is important to drink lots and lots of water though.

During the cooler, winter months the nights can get pretty cold. Just make sure you pack a sweater or jacket or for the evenings.

As far as rain goes, there isn't too much to worry about. Las Vegas only gets about 4 inches of rain a year! So, odds are that you will see nothing but sunshine.

Las Vegas is most famous for the gambling but remember there are lots of thinga to do when you just want to take a break from the casinos. Lots of things are free too! Among them are Fremont Street Experience, free shows and the Lion Habitat.

Fremont Street Experience is an entire street covered by a 90 foot canopy where you can watch an integrated video, graphics, and music show.

Many of the casinos not only have their shows that require tickets at a cost but they have lots of free shows as well.

The Lion Habitat is a great place to check out the beautiful cats and it doesn't cost a thing.

All of those are free and thats just a small bit of the free things to do in Las Vegas.

Even without the humidity, I definitely wouldn't go to Vegas between June and late August/early September. The first time I went was July 2007, and when I left the hotel to catch my red-eye home at 4am, it was STILL 104 degrees outside!

The analogy is pretty simple. When you go outside, it's like walking into an oven that's set to broil. You can't walk 50 feet without breaking a sweat. Another way to think of it is being in a sauna non-stop.

There is a RV park about 30 miles from downtown, and even they close during the summer months because of the heat..
