President Obama is to visit Las Vegas this week and part of his agenda includes a fundraiser aimed at raising $1 million dollars for the Democratic National Committee.
He is expected to touch down on Thursday and attend that fundraiser Thursday evening. The next day, Friday he is expected to visit with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, residents and business leaders to talk about the ways he and Reid are working together to address the economic challenges facing Nevada.
Thursdays DNC fundraiser is to take place at the at the home of Palms boss George Maloof. They expect to have 45 in attendence of the fundraiser. The attendees are those most likely to donate the maximum amount allowed of $30,400 each within a year.
The event is not a fundraiser specifically for Reid. Reid had separate fundraising events planned for today and Tuesday in California, according to the Sunlight Foundation, a good-government group that tracks fundraising.
