This is great news. I just read that Virgin Atlantic has just announced that they will begin to offer flights twice weekly from McCarran International airport to Manchester in the U.K. This will start in April of 2011.

This will give Virgin Atlantic nine direct flights between Vegas and England.

These new flights will be on Thursdays and Sundays.

"The decision to expand our Manchester flying program underlines Virgin Atlantic's commitment to flying to long-haul destinations from regional airports in the UK," Virgin Atlantic Chief Executive Officer Steve Ridgway said.

"Virgin Atlantic's new service into Las Vegas from Manchester is indicative of its long-term confidence in the Las Vegas," said Cathy Tull, the convention authority's senior vice president of marketing.

This is sure to help bring in more tourists to Las Vegas boosting their local economy.

Anytime that the airlines offer new flights it is a good thing because a lot of people have been inconvenienced over the past years that needed to go there or come here.I know that they are really excited not to have to take all kinds of different flights in order to get where they are going.

Maybe this is a step towards showing improvement for the economy, you would think that if they are willing to offer the flights that people are willing to take them and use them.Meaning that maybe more people will come and visit and spend money there.
