This is really sad. The Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas closed it's doors for good today at noon.

The 348-room luxury hotel opened in February of 2003. The hotel is in bankruptcy. They have $728 million in debt.

Approximately 350 staff lost their jobs today but they are going to try and relocate them to other hotels in the valley.

Someone who spent the last night in the hotel said the service was unbelievable. He said you could never have guessed that it was the last night they would be open for business.

Mary Musso, 57, of Henderson, stayed at the hotel Saturday night. She said the service was exceptional and she was saddened by the hotel’s closure.

They feel that there wasn't enough advertising for the hotel which really hurt business.

I feel really bad for the people who are now out of work. It is so hard to find jobs these days as it is.

The Ritz-Carlton is closed in Las Vegas due to banruptsy? That's mind blowing.

The Ritz-Carlton in Las Vegas must be a privately owned hotel for it to close down like that.
It goes to show that the Las Vegas economy isn't really picking up all that much.
But then again, it could be that the Ritz-Carlton location is away from the Las Vegas action, which is usually located on the Strip.

I hope they find a job for most of the 350 staff who use to work there. It is a sad thought; you wake up one day knowing it's your last day on the job.

Unless the report I had read is totally nutso, then it's true. It does seem crazy simply because they were one of the largest places. They were a staple for Vegas. It's a real shame. I guess they are hoping that one of the other big name places buy it up and reopen. I don't know. It's sad to see a place like close. And God bless the workers who never missed a beat. Their service was excellent, even on the last day. I hope they are quickly relocated.

The Ritz was big in it's day, then the strip wasn't what it is now, causing everyone to stick close to it.I mean everything that you could ever need is with in walking distance along the strip.

This makes things very convenient for tourists and visitors, having all that you need very close together like the Vegas strip does.

To bad it takes so much attraction and Ritz.I hate to see things like this close because of the fact that they have so much history in them.
