Court revives suit on overtime pay for casino banquet servers
A federal appeals court has revived a class-action lawsuit alleging Nevada casino banquet servers are being denied time-and-one-half overtime pay.
It is not just in Nevada that this is happening,a lot of people do not get paid overtime for hours over forty.
Something should be done to protect us from this happening to more employees.

If I didn't get time and a half I'd tell my employers to take this job and shove it! Forty hours a week is enough to kill anyone and they want people to do more and not make more for it? Bullshit! I don't think so. They need to stand up for themselves and get the money that is rightfully theirs. If they don't want to pay overtime then they should hire more workers. Plain and simple.

I agree that banquet servers in casinos deserve time-and-a-half pay for working over 40 hours, since they do work and get paid "by the hour".
I'm sure banquet servers don't get tips like most all other casino workers do, so they should get the time-and-a-half they deserve for working forty-plus hours.
I know most casinos can afford the big-time lawyers to try to get this case thrown out for one reason or another, but wouldn't it be much cheaper to just pay for the time-and-a-half?
Las Vegas may be going through a slump with today's economy, but by cutting the hourly worker's "due salary" is not the way to do business.
