If approval is given by the State Gaming Commission, the M Resort will open on March 1st of this year says M chief executive Anthony Marnell III .

They say this resort will give those a chance to vacation at a high-end resort without going to the strip.

The M boasts of 351 standard rooms and 39 large suites, a 92,000-square-foot casino with more than 1,800 slot machines and 60 table games, and nine restaurants and several bars as well.

400 people have already been hired to work there at the opening and another 1,400 are expecting to start in February.

I noticed the construction and the "M" sign when driving past on my last visit and wondered what was being built.

This place faces some tough competition from Encore and City Center, all also new and attracting curiosity.
