With Nevada being the only state where sports betting is legal, it is hard to believe that betting on the Super Bowl was actually down eleven percent from the previous year.

$81.5M dollars was taken in by the Las Vegas sportsbook on the Super Bowl game, this made 2009 the worst year since 2004.

And when all is taken into consideration, it means that gambling is not recession proof as previously believed.

I have to agree with you about gambling not being recession proof. I am seeing things now that are refering to a depression. Maybe people are scared.

I still spend my money on my favorite things just not quite as much however.

My son bet on the game and won. Was nice to see my favorite team take their sixth superbowl ring.

I was rooting for the Cardinals since it was their first time to the Super Bowl. Pittsburg Steelers is one of my favorite teams too, so that is ok by me.

From what I had heard, most of the big businesses were hit pretty hard from the recession, and gambling is one of them.
