Here are some tips to help us save some money while we enjoy our trip to Vegas.
If you've driven to Vegas, or have rented a car - don't use the valet. Valet parking is free at the hotels, but it's expected that you tip the parking attendant. Park the car in the free garage or lot and save that tip money. When you need to gas up, don't use the gas stations on the strip - drive a bit east or west and get cheaper gas.
Room service is tempting at times, but there are all kinds of fees and charges for this amenity. Get yourself out of that cozy luxurious bed and get what you want in an affordable 24 hour coffee shop.
Order ice water with your meal. Soft drinks cost as much as $4 per glass and bottled water costs even more. The drinks can cost as much as half the cost of your meal.
If you like wine, chip in with a friend and buy a bottle. It's much cheaper than ordering by the glass.
Unless it's an emergency, stay out of the hotel gift shop for sundries. There are several pharmacies on the strip with much lower prices for things like aspirin and band-aids. You can also get great souvenirs at the pharmacies!
