Just wanted to give everyone some internet access (wi-fi) information while you are in vegas.
All the big hotels on the strip have both wi-fi and network cable internet hook ups. I am not sure about the smaller ones....but when you book the hotel ask them.
On my many trips to vegas, I found the hotel internet access both afordable and reliable.
If you have a cell phone provider, you can get an access card, i can use my blackberry if i have to, but found what the hotels provide works nicely.

I have a cellular modem ("air card") that I use on trips, but if you use the hotel's wifi, it's $13 per 24 hours (Bally's & Harrah's, that I know of, others may be the same)..
It's easy to use...just open your web browser and it will take you to the signup page...you can pay via CC and I believe you can also charge it to your room...

yes you can bill to your room, you have to have a CC for room charges set up at desk....
Winbig, do you know if there are any prepaid internet access cards available? Say someone was coming in from overseas, and wanted to just pick up one for their stay....

If you have the 'air card' (cellular modem), you can get daily access through most places...I know you can through Verizon for sure...If you don't have the hardware, it'll cost about $50+ to get one without a 2 year agreement..
But if you're just going to use the access in your hotel room, then it'd definitely be more cost effective to just pay the $13 a day...

Yeah i think the best bet is hotel internet too, usually nice and reliable.

yes, I used it before and never had any problems...the only advantage to getting an air card is that you can take it anywhere...but you still have to pay at least $10 a day on top of the price for the air card, and are limited on how much bandwidth you use...(data transfers)...
if you stay with a harrahs property, and are a diamond or 7 star player, the diamond lounges all have computers/printers with free internet access. this is how i print my return boarding passes. i never bring a laptop to las vegas....

All kinds of info here at the LV forum.
I don't think of the internet too much when I travel to Vegas, but my wife sets up her laptop as soon as we get there.
She does internet work from time to time while we visit the strip.
I get on her laptop in the wee hours of the morning to catch up on my Pogo badges as to pass time before the wife wakes up for her morning coffee.
I usually have the coffee made and go through a couple cups before she wakes up.
Also using the laptop is a good way to check on the local news, without waking your spouse.
Unless you have a big suite, and then you can just go through the double doors and watch the news on one of the televisions.
We've been in a big suite once, and it was really nice.
All those room extras do come in handy for two people, and more if need be.
