Of course I have never been to Las Vegas before, though I do have plans to go.

Though it seems that around the same time that I plan on going, my step daughter will be with us instead of with her mother.

Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to keep her occupied while we fly there as well as maybe some suggestions of the things that we can all do together while we are there?

We sort of plan on splitting up when we get there, and take turns being with our daughter so that the other has the chance to gamble a little and have some adult fun, while the other does fun things with her.

She is eleven years old, and very hyper sometimes. I would really like to find some fun things to do and fun ways to occupy her time so that she can also have alot of fun in Las Vegas and enjoy the experience.

Well, since you are flying out I guess traffic bingo is out lol. Does she like to read? Maybe let her buy a book before you go so that she can read on the plane. Or maybe some magazines, kids all love teen magazines. Bring a deck of cards along with you. She can play solitaire or you can play rummy together or something.

as for vegas when you get there.... Most all the hotels on the strip have swimming pools and my kids loved that part,

but there are also lots of places for kids to visit.....mirage has the animal and dolphin exibit, flamingo has the court yard full of birds, i think circus circus has a bunch of stuff for kids (not been there myself) but there are also roller coaster rides at NY NY and the stratophere (spell check...lol)

hope that helps

I just came from posting in a bowling thread, perhaps she wouldn't mind going bowling at Red Rock Lanes at the Red Rock casino hotel.

That's a little over 10 miles from the strip though.

South Point has a 64 lane bowling alley and it's only about five miles south of the airport.

I would think since your daughter is hyper, bowling is a good way to wear her out a bit.

Vegasnut also made a few good suggestions to calm down a restless youngster, or hype her up a bit more.

Thank you all so much for all of these great suggestions. I will be bringing along cards and books for her, and some asprin for myself, rofl.

All of these activities should keep her well occupied while we are there as well as wear her out for a good nights rest.
