I havent had much chance to travel around much. Though I hear alot from people who do and some of the mistakes they make on their travels.
I thought I would post some of them here so that maybe everyone could learn from the mistakes of others when it comes to traveling.
1. Never leave electronics out in hotel rooms, lock them in suitcases.
2. Be sure to lock up your home when you are leaving and shut off everything
that does not need to be running.
3. Make sure that you have proper identification on you at all times.
4. Check cash amount, see to it that you have enough just in case there is
an emergency.
5. Stop your mail, having the post office hold your mail will keep it from piling
up at your home allowing burglers to know your out of town.
6. Take clothing for all weather conditions, Mother nature can be cruel
at times.
These are just a few travel tips for everyone. If you know more please list them so that everyone may benefit!!

1. Never leave electronics out in hotel rooms, lock them in suitcases.
Or in the room safe...alot of vegas hotels have room safes, also...you can get a lock to lock your laptop to the room desk.
I would keep all your valuables in the safe, some hotels have safe dep. type boxes too. this can also keep you from spending to much on the casino floor...if you only take what you want to spend...keeping atm and credit cards put up, you will have to walk to get them to get more money...and then you can think about it...LOL
All good advice!!!
i would add
keep money and/or cards in 2 places, say you have all your cards and cash in your purse....and you lose your purse? I keep some in pockets, some with hubby, and some in purse (and once in room...i keep some in room safe)

I always carry my cash and cards in a purse that goes over head an shoulders. They would have to rip my head off to get it..LOL And I keep it with me at all tmes. You can never be to careful these days.

I leave most of my extra cash in the room safe and take just what I want to spend to the casino floor.
My wallet is put in my front pocket and is usually hard to get out.
I've experienced my wallet dropping out of my back pocket many times from scooting around on chairs, so that's one reason I keep it in the front now.

I like to take just want i need to the gaming floor....ID, some cash...and maybe one card...in a fanny pack or something small i can keep right in front of me. If i take a purse, i have a small "bookbag" type purse that works well..i can put it on backwards, so pack is in front.
Oh...and another tip.... Bring your medical card with you, just in case you need ER while there.
and keep your ID on you at all times.

Great tips everyone. This is really going to help everyone who has yet to visit Las Vegas be more careful with their spending and keeping their belongings more safe at the same time.
Its sad that people have to take such precautions, but we all do. Its always better to be safe than it is to be sorry about it later.

These tips seem to be useful, when i had my trip to Asian countries(Srilanka, India, China) I had a confusion, how safe to travel to these countries, As Srilanka facing war for more than 10 years i dono about the current situation of the war happening there, with this confusion i searched over the net and my findings gave me some valuable tips for free. There i get some better idea about my journey. Thanks

Thank you all for the tips. It is very important to listen to those who have already been somewhere. There may be areas of the city that you don't want to go into.
Keeping your personal possessions locked up helps to keep them safe. Not showing alot of cash while you are out and about helps to keep you safe from criminals.

Something else, if you do carry a purse, do not ever sit it between the machines. Someone could reach through from the other side and grab it and be gone before you could get to the other side.
And guys, putting your wallet in your front pocket is a great idea. I had to tell a man one time that his wallet was lying on the floor, and the outcome of that one could have been really bad.

Alot of people go to big places like Vegas and they are from some small town and they treat themselves as though they were at their home town. The fact is that you should always be very careful and not get to comfortable to fast.
Vegas is a big place and there are lots of different types of people and some places can be dangerous and if you were not familiar with the area you would not know that.
The trip you take can be a very good one if you plan things out and always take a buddy, don't get to comfortable because you never know what will happen to you when you go to big cities. So be careful and aware of your surroundings at all times.
