Blackjack has had several names through out history.

It was called Vingt-et-un, Chemin de Fer, and French Ferme in France. In the 1700's it was played in the French casinos.

A few more names blackjack are called are pontoon, Californian aces and 21. Blackjack is played through out the world now.

They believe Blackjack came from France in around 1700. But no one really can tell for sure where it came from.

Since the 1700's Blackjack has come a long way. There are many different variations of the game.

One variation of the game is called Blackjack Switch. Players are dealt two hands to play at the same time. Players then can switch the cards around to make a better hand.

Another variation of the game is seeing both of the dealer's card up front at the beginning of the hand. This variation of the game is called Double Exposure Blackjack.
