Default Understanding Blackjack

As I have said before I am not a blackjack player but I am interested in it. In order for to get a better understanding of the game I have looked up some of the terms to find out their meanings. If you are like me, hopefully this will be a help to you too.

A-J Bonus= This is a popular rule variant in which a bonus payout for the ace and jack of spades is offered.

Balanced Count= This is when a deck of cards has equal amount of cards valued at + and - . Therefore, the balance is zero.

Burn Card= This is the first card on top of the deck after the cards have been shuffled and cut. This card is then placed on the bottom of the deck.

Draw= This is when you take additional cards to get closer to a total of 21.

First Base= This is the player who is sitting in the position to get their cards first.

Paint= This is simply another way to name a facecard such as the jack, queen or king.

Wow, a few of those terms I had no idea about. I think it is much easier to get a graps on a game if you know the lingo!

Also, join a table with a rowdy bunch to get your money's worth of fun at the blackjack table.

I've played at tables that were quiet and time just seems to tick by while you concentrate on the cards, and that's ok if you like a peaceful blackjack game.

But, if you sit at a noisey table, and have a few drinks under your belt, time will fly and you will have a lot of fun laughing it up with everyone else.

Losing doesn't seem so bad when you're having fun doing it.

Here are some more Blackjack lingo terms for ya. I don't know about you but some games seem to have a language all of their own lol.

Ace Five Count- This is just a card counting strategy where you only count the aces and fives.

Black Chip- This is a casino chip worth $100.00.

Bust- This is when you get a total more than 21. It is an automatic loss.

Camoflage- This is any strategy meant to cover up card counting.

Mechanic- This is anyone who uses slight of hand to cheat at cards.

Money Plays- This is a casino rule where players are allowed to wager actual cash instead of chips.

Hi/Lo Count- This is a card counting system where 2-6 counts as +1 and faces and aces count as -1.

Plus/minus- this is just another name for the Hi-Lo counting system.

Hit- this is when you take another card.

I hope you find this info useful. I will add more here later.
