Following are some of the myths that are associated with the game of Poker:
1) When it is said that you have to advertise, then it is wrongly taken as that you have to perform some extra bluffing so the good hands will be helpful for making more money.
2) There is a myth that you have to make a payment if you interested in learning. According to this it seems that you have to spend a real good amount of money for becoming a good player.
3) According to one of the most common myths for the players those who have lost in their game is that they were not able to register a win because of the bad players. This is a myth that is most commonly used to hide your own personal defeats.

There are many myths about poker which can cost you nothing but money. It is important that you understand these myths and do not depend on them. Here are a few of them:-

1.If you are loosing on a certain site than changing sites will change your luck.
2.Players think that Aces are on every flop, and because of that they feel like KK is no good against AK or AQ. The reality here is that it's simply not true.
3.Most sites provides good deposit bonus, but you actually have to clear the bonus by depositing your own money and playing a large amount of hands. So don't go for the site provides good bonus but also a good game.

There is an myth about online poker, that online poker is rigged. There are some reasons behind it, some of those are:-

1.There are Too Many Quads/straight Flushes/Full Houses.
2.There are Too Many Set-Ups.
3.Poker Sites Intentionally Generate Action.
4.Always Lose After Cash-Outs.
5.Bad Players Get Good Cards.
6.I Always Lose with Pocket Aces.
7.Because Playing at a New Poker Room Always Stars with an Upswing.

Carman, do you really think that online poker is rigged? I have to question that.

There are some dishonest poker games but I wouldnt judge all of the online poker rooms by the few that are dishonest.

I had to bring up this thread because at times I think online poker rooms are rigged...

Mainly because when I play at certain online poker sites, it always comes down to the person with the most chips who cleans out the tables.

And it seems like nobody can stop these highly-lucky poker players when they are on a roll, or so it seems...

That's when I think the poker games are rigged.

I play my best poker hands and when the river pops up this lucky poker player will get trips, or a flush or higher to take down my hand (almost every time when they have the most chips = rediculous).

Hey VegasLuvsMe, is this just something that you have noticed at online poker rooms or is this something that also happens at live casinos?

I was just wondering as we all know that some of the online poker rooms have fallen by the wayside because of questionable practices.

And in your experience, what has been the best online poker room you have found to play at?

I use to play at a lot of poker sites, before the US government snuck in an illegally passed UIGEA bill in late 2006.

The poker rooms were all pretty good sites back then and I think some of them became rouge because of that stupid bill.

The site I use to favor most when US players were allowed to play for real money online is Poker Stars.

They still have all the free money poker play at PokerStars. I've almost stopped playing online poker because of the limited access US players have to online poker sites now-a-days.

I hear there is something in the works to allow online poker back into the US...

I still can't figure out who or why they blocked most of the online poker sites in the US to begin with (that's what happens when a country is in the middle of backruptsy).
