While you often hear of certain people going out for a fun evening playing or men heading out after work for a few drinks and poker with the boys, most people do not perhaps realise that there’s no single game called poker. In fact, it is a family that includes various games that are similar in most ways, while at the same time have some strong distinguishing features. These games themselves can be organized into broad categories. These include the somewhat complex “stud poker” games, as well as the newer “Hold ‘em” games such as Omaha and Texas Hold ‘em.

Whenever I go out to play poker with the guys it use to be 7-card stud poker.

But now I think of poker as mostly Texas Holdem since it's the most popular and a lot of people play it these days.

And speaking of online poker, I tried a poker shootout tournament with three rounds and finally came out on top last weekend.

Yeah it's old news, but those shootout tournaments can get tricky after the first round is over...

Round 2 is harder to win and round 3 even harder to finish. But I finally won one.

I wish we knew more about this poker story. We could learn something about online poker.

I for one, do not spend my money in online poker games. I'm basically a freeloader and like to play poker freerolls, and try to win money towards the real money poker games.

So you are a freeloader, eh? Well I guess I am too then only difference is, I like to play the slot freeroll tournaments.

And occasionally I do win a little that can put me in the running for one of the real money games. But as of yet, I havent won any of those. But am hoping for an improvement in that in the near future.

I've been playing in a few online poker tournaments, the free play ones, just to keep my poker skills updated.

As for slot tourneys, thanks for reminding me IluvVegas. I need to get back to those before I lose out on the slot tournament action.

You are very welcome. Last nite I played in the Big Foot slot tourney at Liberty Slots. I really like that slot game a lot but didnt manage to win anything at all on it.

Oh well, there will be another slot tourney tonite and you better believe I will be there. Lol
