Default Poker Terms

Here are some common poker terms.

Ante: This is the money that is put in at the beginning of some poker games to "seed" the pot.

Bottom pair: This is a pair with the lowest card on the flop.

Check: Means to not bet on a hand but you still can call or raise on another round.

Connector in Texas Holdem: Is a starting hand in which 2 cards are one card apart, ie: KQ.

Equity: Is your share of the pot, for instance, if there is $100 in the pot, and you could win fifty percent of that pot, your Equity in that pot would be $50.

House: This, of course is the establishment that is running the game you are playing in.

Offsuit: In Holdem, this is a starting hand that has two cards of different suits.

I will put in more Poker Terms as time goes on. These are just a few, to give new poker players an idea of the terminology used in most poker games.
