Default Craps etiquette.

Craps can be a game in which the players bond. This usually occurs when all players are betting on the shooter or the pass line and are known as "Right Bettors". To feel like you a part of the bunch, bet with them. The comraderie improves when doing this.

If you want to be a "Wrong Bettor" who likes to bet on the dont pass and dont come, then do it quietly. Blend in and dont rub it in if you win.

Common courtesy rules to follow include, never letting your hands interfere with the roll of the die. And make your bets as quickly as possible after the current roll so as not to interfere with the next roll of the die.

Then theres the rule about never saying "seven". That is a superstition that all craps players respect and follow.

Other rules is never drink over the table, a drink spilled on a craps is very messy and a definite no-no.

Handle the dice with one hand only, and make sure to throw both dice at the same time.

And dont rub the dice on the layout before shooting, this can cause the dice to become unbalanced.

Thanks for this, it's always intimidating to try a new game you know little about. Precisely if you don't know how to behave at the table...

You are very welcome.

I too would find it very intimidating to try to join in craps if I didnt know ahead of time what is acceptable and what is not.

Good luck if you decide to try this game.

The Craps rules kinda makes me think of poker rules, where if you do something or say something wrong you'll get the evil eye from most everybody at the table.

I've found that by standing by the table and watching craps is a good way to learn, as long as you're not in anyone's way.

On top of everything else there is also the hyper-superstitious nature of both players and casino personnel. It makes me crazy...

The way I look at it when playing table games, I'm there for fun (and making some extra cash of course).
And if someone has a problem with me looking at them, or whatever, they shouldn't be playing that game.

Table games like craps are to be played and have fun playing them. Make lots of noise and enjoy the games. Let it all out.

Casinos games are games for adults who want to feel like children again. To have fun by enjoying theirselves and try to make money at the same time.

I don't think I've ever done that to a table dealer.

Now if it were my wife, then I would probably grab and poke her... Ok, kiss her then.

Anyways, most of the craps table dealers or people are men, and usually pretty stout-looking men at that.
