Default New Craps Player

My old man has decided to learn how to play craps and let me tell you it has been rather funny listening to him play.

I have never gotten into playing the game seriously. I just didn't really like it. Some games are for some people and this one isn't for me.

However I am surprised that he is trying to learn the game because he won't even learn to play poker or even rummy. He isn't much into games at all which is why this is surprising me.

I hope that he learns all about the game and does will in it. He may end up being a great player and making some nice extra cash at it.

Though if that happens I will have to figure out how to talk him into heading out to Las Vegas so that he can try his skills out there!!!

Craps is an easy game to play the rules are quite simple. Poker gives some people a headache as they have a hard time understanding why one hand beats another.

He will enjoy this game more probably due to it's simplicity. I hope that you two will get a chance to go to Vegas to play and I also hope that he wins big.

Your right. He probably will like it because it is simple. I also hope that we find ourselves in Las Vegas and he wins big while playing.

Now I just need to let him know that he wants to go to Las Vegas to get away for a bit of fun and gambling.

Think he will fall for it??

I deal dice full time and have been for more years than I like to admit...I always tell brand new players to develop a simple strategy and to keep it simple until they are able to understand the more complicated aspects of the game. Also, I try to steer them away from the high % long-shots in the props and advise them not to fall in love with the FIELD.

I've always wanted to play craps in Vegas, and perhaps I will one day.

A friend of mine played craps for many hours over a three day period, and he gave me the same advice; stay away from the field, they are sucker bets.

I watched him play and he liked to spread his wins across the numbers, where the play chip is kept (or whatever that marker is called) in that number table where all the numbers lined up in boxes.

I watched him for a bit one day and came back about 30 min later and he had one row almost filled with $100 chips.
He told me he wasn't going to quit until he got both rows filled up.
I came back about an hour later and he was almost done for the night (what a lucky bas....).

Looks like he played his chips right, and of course there were a couple of good dice players that night.
