Default odds of winnng

The game of Craps is played as follows, the player throws two dice,
and if the sum is 7 or 11, then he wins. If the sum is 2, 3 or 12,
then he loses. If the sum is anything else, then he continues
throwing until he either throws that number again, in which case he
wins, or he throws a 7.

Calculating the probability that the player wins start by finding the probability of winning at the first roll, that is obtaining 7 or 11.

Chance are as follows:

Pr(7)
1 6 6/36 = 1/6 probability of getting 7
2 5
3 4 (use fractions rather than decimals)
4 3
5 2
6 1

Pr(11)
5 6 2/36 = 1/18 probability of getting 11
6 5

The probability of losing on first roll = 1/36 + 2/36 + 1/36 = 1/9

Then the probability of making a point will be 1 - 2/9 - 1/9 = 2/3

So the probability of winning on first roll = 1/6 + 1/18 = 2/9

You odds of winning do not change they are the same with every roll of the dice, every math guy out there will tell you that!
Now with that said what are you to do if you want to win. The math of the game will tell you that there is a decision made about every 3.6 rolls of the dice, and most players will never get over seven rolls of the dice!

So the smart player would just place one or two points and never let the roll count get over 6 rolls before they get their money off the table even if none of their bets hit. Then wait till the next roll starts and do the same thing, Does this guarantee you a win, no but it does help you to win in the long run. The house has to big of an edge even when you are making the bets you only should be making, and they are none of the bets the stickman controls.

Again read a good book before you step into a casino, if you want to find out about the odds when playing craps go to the Wizard of Odds at : http://wizardofodds.com/askthewizard...obability.html

His site is the very best there is on the math of any game played in a casino!

I hope this will help you out, remember to read before you play, it will save you money and then you can have a good time in the casinos!

I really never understood the concept of craps or how to play either,I did go to the site that you put up and read about it and thanks to you I now have some kind of understanding of the game.

I am not good at betting and stuff like that i just like to play for fun and if I win well that is even better.I like games like bingo and stuff like that where you can win but you do not have to keep betting.

Here is my formula for winning at craps: Set your perimeters. Decide in advance how much of a bankroll you are willing to risk and how big a win you would be happy with. In craps, if you want to win big money, you have to risk big money. There is probably no way around this fact. But, as a smart gambler you don't make large bets with the money.
