18 yr.Old Admits to Murder
This is just scary news to read. Here is an article about a teenager who hated his parents and along with a friend decided to murder them and flee the country afterwards.
Granted parents can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but dang, murdering them over an argument is just something that is completely unreal!!!
I hope that these two young men are harshly punished for what they have done. News such as this is just completely mind blowing!!
Growing up I was mad at my parents several times, though never once took those thoughts to such dark places such a murder!!!
I am glad that they were caught before they were able to escape the country and disappear forever.
Now these two young men have completely ruined the rest of their lives, and at an age when they could have simply walked away and never looked back!
Even in Las Vegas I believe that at the age of 18 your on your own and responsible for your own actions?

Re: 18 yr.Old Admits to Murder
I know the feeling queen of hearts.
I've been angry at my parents many times, but I knew it was part of growing up, so I just took my whippings and moved on in life.
The same thing goes for siblings too.
My brother and I have been in several fights while growing up and I'm sure one of us has felt we wished the other was gone, but we always made up and marked it up as a growing experience.

It is just unbelievable the things that kids do these days. I have to think that it has to be a product of the enviroment. How else have they evolved to do the things they do? Of course I mean a very small portion of childred/teens. But somehow they have learned that these things are almost acceptable. It's really scary!

They are getting younger and younger. Makes you wonder what is going on with kids and thier parents. Do you know where your kids are and what they are doing? Good question huh?

Re: 18 yr.Old Admits to Murder
I've noticed in our society today that the parents would like to have time for themselves, be it watching the TV or at their computer playing games.
Now, the parents will buy their children a computer or a game machine so they can be left alone to their fun or intertainment.
Well, that's all good, but it's the games the parents buy for the children.
Many of them are killing games with guns and the like, and it's about killing other people in a lot of them.
Now you can tell me how the kids get the ideas they have.
I like the Wii games so far that I've seen.
I don't know if they have any killing games in their lineup and I hope it doesn't come to that.
It's the marketing companies trying to make the big bucks, to give a thrill to their gamers.
They think it has to be all about killing to get thrills, but I don't think it has to be about killing, it can be racing cars, flying airplanes or anthing that will give a thrill.
Any more ideas?

the problem is we are not allowed to discipline children in this country anymore. there are no consequenses for young people. adults for that matter. the kids are smarter, bigger, and more worldly than we were. a few years ago, while at a mall in miami, i saw a guy strongarming a woman. he was attempting to take her purse. he was giving it to her pretty good. i jumped in. i beat the guy within an inch of his life. i had to since he was much bigger and stronger than me. police came and arrested him, took my statement and that was the end. well a few weeks later i am being sued since the "guy" was 17. yep. underage. thousands of dollars in legal fees and months of aggravation before it was settled. the parents of the kid wanted blood(money) from me. the scumbag ambulance chaser they hired actually wanted to charge ME with a crime. this kid was like 6 foot 3!! what was lost in all this is the fact that this kid was beating up a woman to steal her property. why? because there are no consequenses. this kid had been arrested a dozen times before. if caught he would have been given a slap on the wrist since the jails in s. florida are packed and if someone like me steps in, im the bad guy. lol.

Damn, that is a messed up situation.
If they go to sue, can't you get your lawyer mention that this man/teen should be charged as a man and sent to jail for his convictions?
You were helping a defenseless woman in the time of need and it's the other jerk who needs to pay for his actions, not you.
I'd try to throw the punk kid and his parents in the slammer for such a rude act on a person.
In other countries, stealing meant you would lose your hand, end of discussion.
Looks like it was already settled, but it just burns me up that people can get away with crap like that.

the biggest problem is the jails are literally full. there is nowhere to put any criminals. here in nj i know my police friends wont make any arrests on a friday night, unless it is very serious, because they cant take them to county jail. in s. florida it is worse. jails are packed with drug offenders. people will sit in jail and if not bailed out in a week the jails will literally post the bail for them. we need to stop locking up people because they have a half a joint in their car and leave room for more serious criminals....

Re: 18 yr.Old Admits to Murder
That's a big 10-4 on not jailing those who smoke a dooby or two.
Just take away the drugs and give them a ticket with a big fine attached.
The same could go for the drunk drivers, but you have to put them in a holding cell until they sober up. Or just put them in prison for a week and that will surely sober them up, for good.
Plus all of those lesser offenders are using up our tax dollars as well.
