Default A Sad Day in Vegas

This is a sad day in Las Vegas as a Metro police officer has lost his life in the line of duty.

28 yr old officer James Manor was responding to a domestic dispute call when while in route to the destination, a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction suddenly turned left into the path of officer Manor causing a collision.

It took a total of 20 minutes for rescuers to remove officer Manor from his patrol car, where he was then taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck Calvin Darling age 45 was also taken to the hospital where he was later arrested and booked for a DUI which involved a death as well as a charge for failure to yeild to an emergency vehicle.

All officers will now wear a black strip to honor officer Manor until he is finally laid to rest.

It is truely sad to see such a young man's life taken well before his time. I have high hopes that Darling will be forced to pay the price for getting behind the wheel when intoxicated, and taking the life of a fellow human being.

I agree with you that he needs to pay the price for his actions.

When are people going to understand that the risk of driving drunk is just too high, it isn't worth it. My husbands cousin lost two of his little girls in an accident when a drunk driver hit them head on. It was aweful. Words cannot even describe it. People need to get it through their heads that it is never a good idea to drive drunk!

Your right it is never worth the risk to get behind the wheel and drive after you have been drinking.

Though all to often people do it and lives get taken.

I am sorry for the lose of your husbands two girls. That must have been a horrible thing to go through. I hope that who ever the drunk driver was, was forced to pay dearly for his/her actions.
