Default Bad Timing for Development

Fontainebleau isn't the only major project that got put on hold because of the crazy economy we have all been dealing with, but.... it is the largest. They are calling the Fontainebleau a poster child for badly timed development. They say it is the nation's largest and most expensive construction project put on hold.

Other unfinished projects in Las Vegas include Boyd Gaming’s Echelon resort on the Strip and Wyndham’s Desert Blue time-share building right across from the Rio. Those two has been stopped when the buildings were mere skeletons. Fontainebleau's exterior was finished and inside work had begun when they were stopped.

Considering all of that, things have been worse in South Florida. Lots of Miami area condos were constructed to completion but still to this day they remain empty.

And still more only made it to their foundations and that is all.

More of the same goes for many big cities across the country. So, overall things haven't been all that bad in Las Vegas considering what other places have been dealing with.
