Bargains in Vegas.
Back before the economy turned bad on us, casinos marked bottles of whiskey up by hundreds of dollars and had a hard time keeping up with the sales. Customers went through it like it was water. Now Jack Daniels and
Smirnoff is going at $45 a bottle. Quite a drop there.
Hotel occupancy dropped by 72% in January, a far cry from the 90% occupied rooms before the bottom dropped out.
Now, since the hotels have lowered rates, occupancy was at 85.9% and 92.5% on the weekends in March.
Now rooms can be gotten for $34 per night, and some hotels have cut rates plus thrown in a spa treatment to boot.
Take a look at Imperial Palace, for $95 you can get a one-night stay with all meals at its buffet and a cafe and all drinks at casino and pool bars.
Las Vegas does what it needs to do to bring in the tourists, but, by the looks of things, the economy is starting to improve, which will mean that people will once again be flocking to this great gambling mecca.
