Default Binions closing hotel.

Binions has hosted the WSOP for the last 34 years, but it has announced that it will be closing its hotel rooms, keno rooms, and coffee shop in order to save money.

Quote:
"It's the downturn," said Lisa Robinson, spokeswoman for TLC Casino Enterprises Inc., owner of the 58-year-old Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel. "We had to make some difficult decisions in order to keep the rest of the property operational."
All hotel rooms will close on December 14th, but the Binions Ranch Steakhouse will remain open as will the Poker Room and Sports Book.

All of this will lead to the layoff of around 100 of Binions 800 employees.

I am tired of hearing of places closing. I hope the new year will bring good news for a change. I want to hear of places opening..LOL Opening jobs for people, it is getting bad out there with jobs.

I hope those 100 find fast employment.

Shame to see this happening to such an iconic place in Vegas - Hope this is just temporary and it all comes back when the economy turns around.

I'm with you on that VegasLover.

It reminds me of the Stardust and a couple others they tore down for the new City Center project.
You see how that turned out. They are struggling to get it opened up in a couple weeks.

I hope Binions does stick around for a while longer.
