Default Indoor Air Quality Awareness Day

Today (Wednesday) was Indoor Air Quality Awareness Day and it was celebrated in Las Vegas. People in Las Vegas were asked not to wear hair sprays or perfumes and colognes to improve indoor air quality.

Quote:
Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian said she was influenced in calling for the proclamation by information from the National Toxic Encephalopathy Foundation, a group based in Las Vegas that lobbies on behalf of people with brain injuries caused by chemicals. “We are asking people not to wear perfume,” Ms. Tarkanian said. She would like people and businesses to use vinegar instead of some cleaning supplies.

“I thought this might be interesting,” she said, “so we will try to go scent-free for that day and see if differences occur.”
The president for the foundation has been asking casinos to stop using scents in their air conditioning units. She says people just don't understand the impact that indoor air has on all of us.

I haven't heard anything about how it went today. I wonder if most people complied.

Default Re: Indoor Air Quality Awareness Day

This is a very good thing to celebrate and help to make more peoople aware of it as well.

I bought my mother a plant for mothers day that was an air purifying plant,a pony tail palm.

She absolutely loves the plant and went and bought herself an even bigger one than I had gotten her for mothers day.

She is all about going green,I love her so much.
