Las Vegas Urban Legends

Not a whole lot of newsworthy things happening in Vegas today so I though I'd share some urban legends with you that I read.

First of all have you ever heard that prostitution is legal in Las Vegas? I have heard that. Well it isn't true. The fact is you have to travel as far as Nye County for that. Now I'm not saying that it doesn't happen in Las Vegas but it isn't legal in Clark County.

This next one just can't be said it's true or that it isn't true. It's Area 51. Many believe that aliens are there. Some say they have seen strange lights and happenings. The area is of course restricted so who is to know. The Pentagon says no but ?????

Then we have bodies buried in the desert. It is known that people have buried there pets in the desert and marked their graves. But there are people who live in the desert in tents and some people think that they bury their relatives out there because they cannot afford the proper burials. Some legends say that the mob used to take people out in the desert and shoot them or bury them in the sand up to their necks, leaving them to die.

Last we have the good ole saying "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Okay if you get married in Vegas it sticks, if you get a ticket it follows you home, if you get drunk off your booty and do silly things and your friends have a digital camera, it lives on forever. lol.

Thanks for sharing these urban legends about Vegas, they are actually very interesting.

I cant imagine that What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas because as you say, in todays world of digital cameras and cell phones with cameras, a lot of what you do there just may come home to haunt ya. Lol.

As to Area 51, that is one place that has drawn a lot of interest over the years. And theres no way to even get near it. There are motion detection cameras in the desert around it and it is well patrolled.

Perhaps one day we will get to know the truth about Area 51, but I have my doubts about that one too.

While driving truck down I 15 several times during that career I hadn't noticed too many cat houses for prostitution.
But as I traveled down I 80, the northern Nevada highway, I passed quite a few cat houses.
Years ago there were old wooden signs that would let you know to take this exit to xxx cat house.

There was this one truck stop that has a little town next to it and the ladies would offer free showers and meals, from what I heard.

As for the other three; I'm pretty sure they're all true except for what happens in Vegas stays there, because that's just an old saying now.

I'm not too sure I want to know who or what goes on at Area 51. It all sounds a bit spooky to me lol.

As for the cat houses, not sure on that either except that I wouldn't be able to work at one lol. Those gals sure do make good money though lol!

Lol... I watch t.v.! I've seen a few cathouses on there and believe me, they make the money. Myself... I'd rather be poor lol. To each their own I guess lol.
