Marathon race for Crohns to be run in Vegas

In three weeks, this will be the scene of a 1/2 marathon race in Las Vegas to help benefit the Crohns Disease and Colitis Foundation of America.

The race will be 13 miles long and Lila Wallace, who is an Alumni of MUM (Maharishi University of Management) will be one of the runners in this race to raise money for research and patient education.

Kudos to this young woman for doing all the training it takes to do this race to help raise money for this foundation.

It is always good to see people doing things to help others. We need a lot more of this and people like this. I get so disappointed in this world everytime i read to see the news. It is good to see some good for a change.

I have heard of Crohn's disease but never really knew what it was. Here is what I found out on Wikipedia.

Crohn's disease is a autoimmune disease of the intestines that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from the mouth to the anus. Some of the symptoms of the disease are abdominal pain, bloody stools, vomiting and weight loss.

Crohn's disease is very widespread. It is estimated that about 500,000 people have in North America.
