Default PokerStars looking to Nevada.

PokerStars is looking to Nevada to get its break into the online poker business in the United States.

There are some however who oppose such a thought.

Quote:
But the effort may be doomed because casino giants MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment — and presumably many other casinos — oppose the proposal.

“Has there ever been any bill passed directly affecting gaming over the opposition of the leading casinos in the state? I would bet no,” said I. Nelson Rose, a gaming attorney and industry consultant based in California.

Most in the casino industry think regulated Internet gambling in this country is inevitable, but many don’t want to share the business with a juggernaut like PokerStars.
They are attempting to get the state to vote yes so that they can get Nevada residents playing their online games. It would be nice to see such a thing happen.

I know the big casinos are against this sort of thing but it would open up the doors for them to be able to put their games online too. Here's hoping that a beginning can be forged on the road to online gambling in the U.S.

Default Re: PokerStars looking to Nevada.

I can say one thing about Poker Stars, they are the largest online poker site in the world.

Though there is a question that sits at the back of my mind, and that is, why wouldn't the largest Las Vegas casino companies accept the largest growing poker site in the world?
Do they feel threatened?

I think the smart thing for these big Las Vegas companies to do is accept PokerStars with open arms, because if they don't another company will and they will reap the profits.

Playing games online is the in-thing these days and will become even more popular as the years progress.
The same thing goes for online poker.
The US is losing untold hundreds-of-thousands if not millions of dollars each year by not accepting online gambling.

Wake up American companies and get with the program!
