Vegas Boy Crushed to Death by Stove

Oh this is just horrible. A Las Vegas boy died Sunday afternoon from being crushed by a kitchen stove.

The little boy was only 18 months old. He somehow managed to tip the stove over on himself.

I am thinking that it was probably an older stove that didn't have those anti-tip legs on it. He probably opened the oven door and stood on the door causing it to tip. Thats just my guess.

Police are investigating along with children services.

I'm not sure who was with the child when this happened.

Thats aweful. I really feel for his family. They must be besides themselves right now. Thats probably the last thing they ever thought would happen. Very sad.

Oh that poor family. That baby dying like that is horrible.

I really dont see how a tiny child like that could tip over a stove. Not even if they stood on the oven door. And the reason I say that is because one of my grandsons when he was 3 stood on the oven door and the only thing it did was to weaken the springs on the door itself.

Its good that there will be an investigation as this just doesnt sound right.

OMG that is just aweful. If that stove tipped over that easily then it means it was not an old stove but actually an ancient one!!!

This is something that no family should ever have to deal with, but sadfully things like this do happen sadfully.

My heart and prayers go out to the family for their horrible loss. This is something I really wish would never happen, but that just isnt something that we can stop.

Though we can take the time to check things around the home to make sure that the little ones are as safe as possible. I guess this family missed checking the stove for hazards such as it tipping easily.

It might be a little suspicious but that has actually happened quite a bit in the past. Thats why they now come with the anti-tip brackets when you buy a new stove/oven. I just bought one from Sears back in March or something and it came with them.

It is so sad. I just feel horrible for the family. I cannot imagine how they must feel.
