The diamond shaped sign that welcomes people to Las Vegas has been vandalized. Over the weekend someone took a red marker and scribbled all over it.

The sign has never been messed with ever before. A cleaning crew is coming out today to clean it up again.

In 1959 Betty Willis designed the sign so it has been around for a long time. The sign is located at the south end of the strip.

They are now trying to find the people who decided to write all over the bottom of the sign. I have never myself been to Vegas, but I have seen the sign all over in movies, pictures, and online.

The Las Vegas "Welcome" sign is one of the trademarks of Las Vegas.

I hope they have footage of these vandals.

Putting them in jail for a week plus fining them for the sign clean up might do the trick.

And then plaster their faces on the back page of the newspaper, stating that the next vandals will be doing prison time and pay for a new sign too.

I am hearing this kind of news everywhere. It is so sad that people can convert to this kind of action. It is even sadder to say I am afraid it will get worse before it gets any better. We all need to PRAY for this country!
