Default Westcliff Airport Express

As of December 12th, there is a new way to get around in Las Vegas. Its called the Westcliff Airport Express, and these buses will make getting to the strip, downtown Las Vegas, and McCarran International Airport much easier and faster.

One of the main reasons for the creation of Westcliff Airport Express was to keep locals from parking at the airport. This way they now have a fast, convenient mode of transportation to the airport without having to use their own cars.

The new Park and Ride facility is located at the intersection of Durango and Westcliff drives, close to Summerlin Parkway.

There are 140 parking spaces free for those who use the buses or car pool. And everyone will be able to wait in air conditioned comfort in the new Transit Center.

This center also services several other regular bus routes.

The cost of a ride to these places is $2 per person, quite the savings when you consider the cost of gasoline these days.

Great post! I haven't been to Vegas in years, but is this basically like an extension of The Deuce (named for the original fare, which is now $3)? I wonder why airport parking is a problem--can anyone shed some light? I've never parked at the airport since I'm always flying in and heading right to the slots.

Wonderful news. There is nothing like someone else driving you to your desination when you are entering a new city.

This is definately cheaper than a taxi ride I am sure. I would also think that the locals are pleased with this also as they can now leave their vehicles in the safety of their garages.

I am wondering if this is a 24 hour service and if it will make a difference as far as safety goes. I mean if it is 24 hours than you could safely drink and not drive right.

Thanks for sharing it will be handy to know this info next time I get to Vegas.

This is a wonderful and will come in very handy this time of year.
The Vegas Airport is very small comparied to others. and if u take a cab they tend to take the seanic route costing u so much more ,

Vegas has a lot planed for the holiday season and this is a great extra for all who are going there this season

Yes, the cost is $2 per person and from the 17th to the 24th of December, locals will ride free.

I will have more information on this tomorrow.

The total time the trip to McCarran Airport takes from the Westcliff Transit Center on Durango Drive takes about 42 minutes. And can you imagine the ride at night through the strip? One would be able to see all of the different decorations the casinos have up for the holidays.

Another advantage for locals taking the Westcliff Airport Express is that it passes many employment centers.

And for out of towners, you will pass the Freemont Street Experience, the Suncoast, New York New York, and the MGM.

All in all, this express option is good for all concerned.

A cheaper way to travel from the airport to the strip, sounds good enough to me.

I think it costs four or five dollars each for my wife and I to take a shuttle bus to the strip from the airport. And now it looks like that can be cut in half with Westcliff.

We need to make a note of this Westcliff Airport Express so we can give them a try on our next Las Vegas trip.

Most of the time we'll just grab a shuttle service at the airport that's headed into Vegas in the next few minutes because of the long flight we have.

Either way, it's good to know people can travel for less in Vegas.

Nice to see new transportation around vegas...i always use the shuttle.....i enjoy the ride...you see all the hotels and pretty lights!

The shuttles usually cost 4 to 5 bucks....but this is nice price! all of them beat the heck outta cab fares. I wonder what they cabbies think of this.
