Default GOP Presidential Debate in Las Vegas

CNN has been chosen to host the GOP Presidential Debate in October by the Western Republican Leadership Conference. The conference will take place at the Venetian Resort.

Quote:
"Republicans in Western States will play an important role in determining the next Republican nominee for president," said former Nevada Rep. Jon Porter, chairman of the WRLC. "On behalf of the Western Republican Leadership Conference, I am excited to be working with CNN on this important debate. I look forward to hosting our 2012 Presidential candidates, and showcasing their ideas on Western and national issues."
Nevada is expected to play a big part in deciding the next Republican presidential nominee. Nevada will be one of the first states to vote in the process.

Quote:
"Nevada is the gateway to the West in the 2012 Republican presidential primary," said Sam Feist, CNN's political director and vice president of Washington programming. "This is an opportunity for GOP presidential candidates to speak, in person, to Nevada Caucus-goers as well as voters from the 15 other states and territories represented by the Western Region."
This should draw lots of people which is always great for Las Vegas.

You are right about one thing, it will bring a lot of people to Vegas but, I think its rather unfair that they can hold a conference in Vegas after the president putting a stop to other conferences taking place there.

I do hope this presidential debate does bring a lot of people to Vegas though, what with the economy being what it is, the added tourists will be a real plus for Vegas right now.

ILuvVegas, I think that's why they're holding this presidential debate in Las Vegas; to show the (so called) President that we Americans are free to debate and conference anywhere we please.

For a man to call himmself Our President, he should have at least served Our Country and hold his hand over his heart during the "The Pledge of Allegiance".

The Pledge of Allegiance is for our Flag and for the Americans who fought under our flag to help keep Our Country Free!

The following is from; ushistory.org, documents, pledge...

Quote:
Section 4 of the Flag Code states:

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.

Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute."
That says it all my free American friends.

I agree with both of you. I have lots of issues with Obama and I really hope that he doesn't get a second term. I didn't want him to have the first term. I don't feel that he has out best interests at heart. He is a very eloquent speaker and thats what got him the job.

I think this conference will be good for Las Vegas though.
