Las Vegas Convention Center
The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority in Las Vegas. It is one of the largest convention centers in the entire world. It consists of 3,200,000 of space. It can hold 200,000 people for an event.
In the early 50's, it was said that the Las Vegas area needed a convention center to help fill up the hotels and so on during Las Vegas's slow months. Not long after, construction began where an automobile racing facility was just one block east of the strip.
Many expansions have taken place since the fifties and it has really grown.
Another huge expansion has been put on hold but if they end up going through with it, it will more than double the size of the convention center.
Conventions of all kinds are held there. The center is typically booked up years ahead of time!
