I've always wanted to go a Star Trek Convention

I can only imagine the costumes that people will come dressed up in. I think these types of conventions are fun and wild. I've been a Comic Con once and those costumes that people coming dressed in were WILD! If I could go to this I'd dress up as like a Vulcan or a Klingon.

My step dad is a huge Star Trek fan and I know he will lobe to hear about this one.He has all of the Star Trek movies and a lot of the figurines that have been put out over the years.

He has lvoed Star Trek ever since he was a little boy he says and knows everything there is to know about the movies and the history of Star Trek.

The doc is his favorite character on the show,He is a nurse himself. He says that the show helped to inspire him to gointo the field.I think that that is neat to know about him.

This is a neat story Anita thanks for sharing it with us. It is surprising how some things like a TV show can effect our lives. Its really amazing.

Does your Dad mostly love the older version of Star Trek or does he also watch all the other spin off's of the show such as Next Generation ( which is my favorite) or any of the others?

The convention is going on as we speak and I just read that on Sunday they are planning a huge auction as well.

They will be auctioning off all kinds of things from the set of Star Trek such as...

Quote:
the only surviving translight panel from the Original Series bridge, the Capt. Kirk spacesuit filming miniature from Star Trek: The Motion Picture and a Sulu tunic from the Original Series. Also included are more than 100 pieces of original concept art Rick Sternbach created for Star Trek.

Quote:
“This is truly a milestone event. Never before have so many fans had the opportunity to bid on such an incredible variety of items from the Star Trek universe,” said Alec Peters, CEO and founder of Propworx, a leading Hollywood studio auction company. “We are proud to partner with CBS Consumer Products to bring such a monumental piece of American pop culture directly to the fans and excited to be holding the event at the Creation’s Las Vegas Star Trek Convention, the foremost celebration of the Star Trek legacy.”
Bidding will start tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

Oh Wow this is something that any and all Star Trek fans are going to love. I am a fan of this series though mostly for the "Next Generation" is my favorite, however it sure would be awesome to have a piece of the orginal series.

I wish I could be there for this auction, but sadfully that just isn't possible right now.

Thanks for sharing this information. I am sure that the Star Trek fans are also quite happy that you posted this information as well.

I saw some of the items that were being auctioned off and the prices that they were sold for.

People were spending several thousands of dollars for some of the items that had been auctioned off.

There really are some true die hard fans of Star Trek to be paying out of pocket so much money from a show.

Though when you love something so much that money seems to be well spent, and who knows as time passes it may become worth even more than what they paid for it.

There are some things from shows that I loved to watch at one time that if they were being sold, I too would pay out thousands of dollars to have it. I guess that is just the way that some things go in life.
