The Venetian Casino Resort in Las Vegas is suing the Tea Party Nation for a rather large unpaid bill. The bill is more than $600,000!
Apparently the Tea Party reserved 1,637 room nights at the Palazzo hotel last summer for a convention. The agreement was they pay the hotel $579,148 if they cancelled. They cancelled two weeks prior to the event.
So the Venetian wants the Tea Party to pay the bill owed plus $87,996 in interest accumulated since.
Quote:
The Venetian's lawyers claim the Tea Party Nation "has refused, and continues to refuse, to make payment," despite being contacted numerous times, LA Weekly reported.
Tea Party Nation Founder Judson Phillips told Las Vegas Review Journal that hasn't seen the lawsuit yet.

I can understand the Venetian wanting that money because once those rooms were reserved they couldn't give them to anyone else. So they lost out big time I am sure.
