The Tea Party Unity convention in Las Vegas was to take place back in July but they postponed it saying that it was just too hot. Then they scheduled it for October but apparently it has been cancelled as well because I read that the website for it has been taken down and the hotel (not sure which one) told a reporter that it was not going to take place.
Quote:
The group that was organizing the rally, Tea Party Nation, has long been viewed with suspicion by other Tea Party groups. Many grumbled at the $549 cost to attend the Nashville event, accusing the group of potential "profiteering and exploitation of the grass-roots [Tea Party] movement." The Las Vegas convention was meant to stress unity in the movement in the state where Tea Party-backed GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle is locked in a nasty and tight campaign battle with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
In her email, the Times reports, Kinnison wrote that members of the movement should remain enthusiastic.

I have not been able to find out any backround information about this group other than the organizer was Barbee Kinnison. I must say that there does seem to be something suspicious about this thing. Charging that much money, cancelling once and then again. Something fishy! And I wonder if the people who had already purchased tickets will get their money back?
