Default US Table Tennis

July 1st through the 4th they are having the US Table Tennis Open at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

They are expecting about 3,000 people to show up for this opening.

I can remember playing ping pong when I was a young child. We had a table in our basement. We use to play all the time. Of course never by the rules. LOL!!!

Table Tennis became very popular in the second half of the 19 century in England.

I have become over the years very bad at the game. You need a very fast reaction speed, and eyes on the ball. You must also be in very good shape to play.

All of this is true when playing Table Tennis or ping pong as I've called it most of the time.

I've also played it quite often when I was young and at the age of 19 became really good at playing table tennis.

My father had a friend come over one Sunday evening because he had heard that I was pretty good at the game.

This friend of his played table tennis in College. We finished a 5 game set, and would have played more, but it was getting late and hard to see the table in the garage light.

I beat him 3/5 games. He told me I was really good and I should think about going to the nationals. I was only 19 and figured that he was pulling my leg, so I didn't bother to further my carrier as a table tennis player.

It does take a lot of physical movements to play table tennis and you have to be really quick on the toes to keep the ball in play.
On top of that, you need to have quick hands and hand movements to out-play your opponent.
