Prebooking a tournament.

I thought that I had seen something on one of the casino website a way too prebook your seat in a tournament. Is this possible if you have never played in Las Vegas before?

I am also wondering if it is a wise idea to do so? It concerns me because if you have to pay up front and then something happens to your trip plans you might loose that fee.

I just had to ask because it would be nice to know that the arrangements were already taken care of but I wouldn't want to do something foolish either.

If anyone has ever done this or knows the ins and outs or up and downs let me know your opinion please.
