Default Tournament Players

I was just wondering if anyone here has every been in a Las Vegas tournament of any kind, what it was like and how long did it take you to prepare yourself for the tournament?

I bet it would be alot of fun to get into a tournament, especially if you were playing a game that you loved and were good at.

I would love to get myself to the point in poker where I would feel comfortable enough to enter a tournament, to see if I could be one of the better players or the best player. Though I dont see that happening any time soon or even in my lifetime.LOL.

I imagine that getting into a tournament would be difficult. I dont know if I could really stand playing the same gave over and over again against different people. I would proably end up getting bored of the game after a while.

I know that most tournaments go on for days and days, and I just dont think that I could handle something like that, but it would be alot of fun to at least try.

I love playing Rummy, lol, I wonder if there are any Rummy tournaments in Las Vegas, ROFL.

Default Re: Tournament Players

Playing in poker tourneys can be hard at times. I've played in one poker tournament in Vegas because I happen to be in the casnio when they announced it.

It was a $50 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tourney.

My wife and I were at the regular tables just enjoying a few hands at a $30 buy-in table. We decided to just sit there and play until we ran out of chips with one buy-in.
I made two extra re-buys because I wasn't doing so well in the first half hour of play, but my wife was holding her own with only one re-buy during our stay at the table.
I got my chips up to about $150 after about an hour of play and my wife was sitting at $40 when they announced a poker tourney.
So, I gave her $100 in chips and told her to go sign us up.

We cashed in our chips when they announced the tourney would start in 5 minutes.

A special note; by this time I've had at least four mixed drinks in my system, so I was feeling little pain and enjoying my card playing.

To make a long story short; I ended up taking out my wife in the first hour of the poker tourney, and ended up splitting the pot on the final table with two other players--$300!

So, if you know how to play Hold'em Poker and you've spend many hours online, and quite a few hours in live poker play, you can win once in a while.

I suggest; if you want to really play a game of poker, which can last from 2 hours up to 3 or 4 hours at times (some of these games are timed), join one of the $50 buy-in games.

Most of the larger casinos, and few smaller ones, offer poker tournaments. Just ask around and remember what time they start, sign up and have a blast!
