Default Tournaments.

Las Vegas has so many casinos that it is hard to imagine anywhere that doesn't hold some sort of tournament. I am curious has anyone here played in one?

I would like to as I love the online tournaments. I have never won one of those and figure maybe I would stand a better chance in a live tournament.

I've only played in one poker tournament in Vegas, at O'Sheas casino.

I started out at the sidewalk poker table and played there for about an hour, until they announced a poker tournament with a $50 buy-in.
I looked at my chips and decided, I can do that.
I made it to the final table in that tourney and split the prize money three ways, out of a little over 30 players.

Most casinos announce some of their poker tourneys.
So when you're sitting there and playing slots or table games, listen for the announcement, or walk over to ther poker room area and look at their schedule.

Some poker tournaments have a long waiting list, so you may want to check in at the poker room first thing in the morning to play in the lower buy-in tournaments.

Playing poker is all about playing for fun, but there are a few who take it way too serious.

Just play by the rules and play smart. If someone doesn't like your raise or your check-raise, that's their problem.

You may get an occasional few words of criticism from another player in a poker game, sometimes it's just trash talk, so don't let it bother you.

There are also those mean looks and stares some players will throw your way just to try to spook you, ignor them along with the trash talkers.

You are there to have a fun game of poker, so don't let a few words or actions keep you from playing. When you're at the table, it's your game too.

The $50 buy-in tourneys are about as low as your going to find it in the Vegas casinos.

I have seen a few $30 buy-ins, but they are usually filled up before I can sign-up for them.

MY son who is based at Nellis AF base, goes to the strip about twice a week and plays in the poker tournaments at one place or another, he was in one the other night, it cost him 65$ to enter, top prize was 1400$ and second and third also win prize money, and like he says, he gets to go out for the night, and play at the casinos for only 65$ and he is there for 3 or 4 hours! Now thats a nice, inexpensive night out. and drinks are free!

I wish i lived out there, i would have myself a wonderful time, between the tourneys, slots, and free sites with animals, i would think i was in heaven! lol
