Increasing my odds of winning.

I was wondering if playing smaller bets on a slot would increase my odds of winning?

I have played slots at a casino in west virginia and it seems like the longer that you play them the better you can hit.

There are times however that this doesn't work to well. I have changed bets and hit when the little bet was doing me no good at all.

Hitting the spin button and then alternating to the bet button sometimes helps too.

I just need to know if there is any real way to increase my chances of winning. I hate to drop all of that cash and not get a dime back for my efforts.

This is my opinion and just mine ..LOL I think if you are gonna hit you will. I do not have any special things I do when I am playing. I just sit and have fun.

i think i may have a previous post here on the forum with some slot myths. the answer is no. there is absolutely nothing you can do to "trick" the machine into paying out. "hot" and "cold" machines are myths. they are computers and do not care what you are doing to them. now higher denomination machines do have higher payback %'s but we are splitting hairs. slot payout %'s are calculated over the life of a machine. millions upon millions of spins. when casinos post their monthly slot payback % they are using this as a marketing ploy. no one person would be able to play enough spins to notice any difference. its like when people believe they are saving money by filling their gas tanks in the morning since there is less evaporation. scientifically and technically this is true but the reality is you would need a thousand lifetimes to notice any difference. although you would not be happy to find out you have been playing a 80% payback machine, vs. a 97% one, the reality is you would notice no difference since your playing sessions are too small. you may sit down and hit 2 jackpots on the 80% machine and lose all your money on the 97% machine. over the course of their timeframe(a casino secret) the payouts will average out to what they are supposed to be.

I was thinking of commenting on this post when I saw it, but knew you would come along and clear things up for us...again.

I always think by changing the coin amounts the machine will hit better, and sometimes it does, but that may be because it's just hitting at the time of my coin amount change.

So, the casino secret about the "timeframe", is that from the time they place it on the floor until it's taken off and replaced?

I agree, these are preset machines and they will hit when they were told to hit. It's okay to have your "thing" that you do to help you win. Nothing wrong in being a little supersticious. I am like that myself. When my Chicago Bears are about to take the field I have to have all of my Bears jewelry on lol! Look how well thats working out for me... they are 4-4 lol. But when it comes to game time, I'll be in all my Bears jewelry again!

They are right,you can not fool the slot machines if you are at the right machine at the right time then you will win if not you won't.

This is the reason that all or at least most of the folks that are cheating and being dishonest at casinos are doing it at table games trying to fool the dealers.

I watch casino on television and they show all kinds of ways that people use to cheat the system,and let me tell you they go to all extremes to cheat and get money for themselves.
