Default Casino War

I was wondering what exactly casino war is and how it is played. I have heard that it is about the easiest game to play in a casino but as I have never played it or seen it played I have no idea. So, I did my homework.

The specific rules are-

* You play the game with six decks of cards, aces are always high and the other cards are ranked just like in poker. It doesn't matter what the suit is.

* After players make their wagers, each player and the dealer gets a card.

* Each of the players cards are compared with the dealers card. If a players card is higher than the dealers, the player wins. If the dealers card is higher, the player loses.

* A player has two choices if there is a tie. 1. A player can forfeit and surrender half the bet or 2. go to war.

* If a player decides to go to war, they must raise their bet by an amount equal to the original bet. The dealer will do the same. then the dealer will then burn three cards and give give the player and himself another card. If the players second card beats or equals the dealers then the player wins the second bet. If the dealers card is higher than the player loses.

* Some casinos vary in how they deal with a tie after a tie.

How the house gets their edge-

This games gives you a 50% chance of winning but the house still has an edge. In example, if you bet originally $5.00 and have to double your bet risking $10.00 in war, if you win, you only win $5.00.

This game has the same principles as war we played as kids.

Default Re: Casino War

I think War was my second card game to learn, although it is the easiest.

Go Fish was the game I first learned to play with cards, being raised as a Christian, playing war was unheard of for a child to play in the 60's.
Well, at least in our home.

War was fun to play during my first try at it. My sisters learned how to play from one of their friends and then introduced it to me (I think they changed the rules so I would lose ).
It always seemed like I would lose all my cards when I was young, because I was slower at thinking and my sisters were fast at throwing their cards and then pick them up again.

As time goes by and I'm getting older and faster, I am no longer fun to play with since my reaction time has picked up and now I've got their heads-a-spinning.

Anyway, War was a blast to play many years ago, and can still be fun to play as to pass time between two bored people.
