Default Pai Gow

I have heard of people talking about playing Pai Gow poker and I know that it is a card game based on Pai Gow. I was wondering what exactly Pai Gow is. I found out that it is a game played using Chinese dominos. The game has a lot of history behind it as it goes clear back to the Song Dynasty.

The game tiles (dominos) are randomly in eight stacks of four on the table. This is known as the woodpile. They are "shuffled" and then rearranged into a new woodpile.

Bets are then made.

Then, each player includin g the dealer gets four tiles with which to make two of two tiles. The players hand with the lower value is called the "front" hand. The players hand with the higher value is called the "rear" hand.

If the players front and rear hands both beat the dealers front and rear hands, the player wins the bet. If the players front hand beats the dealers front hand but the dealers rear hand beats the players rear hand, it is called a push and the player only wins their own bet money. If both of the players hands lose to the dealers hands, the player loses the bet. Only the players hands are compared with the dealers hands, not with other players.

I think this game would be a lot of fun. Do any of you play it?

I've played the pai gow card game on Pogo a few times.

As for the tile game, I've seen it played at several casinos in Vegas, but didn't stick around long enough to learn how to play.

Pai gow cards are fairly fun to play, but it is really hard to catch many winning hands.

I think I spent more time betting on a lose or push in the play game.

You get 7 cards delt to you. Select two for your low hand and the rest will be your high hand.
Try to make the two highest hands with the low and high to try to beat the dealer.

Other than that, it's pretty simple, but try to catch two winning hands.

I don't know if this is the same way it is played in the casinos, but that's the way it's played at Pogo.

That sounds fun and very similar to Pai Gow. I am going to try the Pai Gow maybe later today. It has me interested lol. I like to try different things once in a while. I get bored playing the same things over and over. Pogo is a great place to play games. I have been pogo'ing for years lol.

I tried playing Pai Gow a couple times. I think I spent most of the time losing or getting a push LOL There was one hand that I won on, but I just managed to squeak by that win.

I thought it was fun, minus the losing part, I think if I knew a little more about the rules, I would've had a little more fun and came up winning some.

Well it looks to be a little difficult. I will however check out the pogo card version and see how well I do.

I love dominos but it is very difficult to find someone to play with. The kids never really cared for it. They prefer chess. Oh well to each his own as long as you are having a good time.
