Default Pool Tournament

The National Team Championships will be held Aug 21-29 in Las Vegas at the Riviera Hotel and Casino.

They are going to have three different championships.

First one is open 8 ball and the winner gets $25,000. The second one is ladies 8 ball and the winner is $10,000. The third on is open 9 ball and the winner will receive $15,000.

They are also going to have MiniMania that are preregistered events that will pay out a total of $200,000. Those games will be 8 ball doubles, 9 ball doubles, masters championships and wheelchair challenge.

They are expecting about 13,000 to show up for this event.

Wow, that's a lot of people to show up for pool tourneys, or billiards.

I've probably mentioned this before, but I've dabbled a little in billiards during my younger years.

Eight Ball is my favorite game of choice. I played a few games of nine ball and didn't do too good in those.

My best record for knocking the eight ball in the side pocket on the break was two times in a row, and did it four times within an hour, on a regulation table some twenty-eight years ago.

I use to shoot pool in my younger years as well. There is no way I could be in a tournament of any kind now. LOL!!!

But I love to still watch it and see some of the trick shots.

All I can say is that practice make perfect.

Billiards is one of the games where you can get lucky at slam-shots.

But you can clear a table in two or three turns if you take the slow and steady approach, with a lot of practice.
