Default Threes

Here is a different game that I was wondering if anyone has ever played it. It is called Threes. In this dice game, you play with 5 dice, and you want to get the lowest score.

The game is played by getting in a circle with the five dice. You want to get the highest dice to be the one who starts the game.

In the middle of the circle, you want to ante up. Each person will take a turn in a clockwise rotation.

After you add all the numbers up on the dice, you want to have the lowest number. If you roll a three, it will count as a zero.

The best roll you can do would be five threes. Your score would be zero. If you get five sixes, that is called shooting the moon and you automatically will win that round.

When you win a round, you take the money in the middle, and start all over again.

I think I have seen this game played in some movie one time. I have never played it myself but, it seems pretty easy to play.

Default Re: Threes

Is there just one throw of the dice in Threes?

If so, then it's about the same as playing the card game War, but with war there's only one card until war is declared.

I did see the game of Threes played on a movie the other day.

I think it was in the movie Push.
At the begginning Nick Gant (Chris Evans) is throwing dice and already has a $3,000 marker.
When he loses his bet with the Dice boss, he takes off running.

I think they were playing Threes in that movie. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.
