War?

I have heard of the game War, though I have never seen it played and dont know how it is played.

Does anyone here know how to play the game? If anyone knows could you explain it to me or direct me to a place where I can learn more about it?

I have been told it is a fun game to play and I would like to at least try it once.

War has to be one of the easiest card games to play.

Take a shuffled deck of cards.
Give each person one card.
The person with the highest card wins the game. Tada!

Ok, I did forget to mention the "war" part.

If the dealer and player have the same value card showing, each are dealt two cards down and one card up.
The one with the higest card wins. Tada!

In casino war everyone is playing against the house or dealer.
When a war is played out, three cards are burned and each player will get one card face up, and the payout to the winner is usually higher.

The Dealer and the Player have a 46% chance of winning.
The house advantage in a regular 6 deck casino war game is 2%.

Oh War is a very easy game to play from the sounds of it.

Thanks so much for explaining it. I proably have played this game when I was a child and simply forgot all about it.

Anymore it seems that sitting down to play any game is almost impossible. Though its something that I should do more often.

When I start I will be sure to play War with someone, sounds like its a great deal of fun to play.

Maybe when I play it again, it will bring back some memories ( I hate getting older).

We used to play war as kids... I seem to remember the Jack being higher than the other cards, but that may just have been a particular version we played.

Geez, when i played war as a kid it was nothing like how you explain? Is there different types?

When we played you split the deck up between all the player, and then everyone would turn a card over and the highest card would win that hand, and you would keep playing this way until two or more players turn up the same card. like two players turn up 3's, then they are at war over the hand. and you turn one card down, and one card up, who's ever card that is turned up is higher wins the war hand with the extra card that was face down! and if you happen to tie again with the turned up card, then its double war, and you put another card face down, and another face up and whos card is higher of the faced up ones wins all the cards! Aces are the best cards to abviously!!

Great game, i still enjoy it know every once in awhile with my oldest son.

I played that as a kid too!! If I remember right the ace was the high card. I am sure there is different versions though. It is a fast and easy game to play.
