Default Phantom of the Opera

If you're a fan of high-entertainment musicals, you have to head to The Venetian, which is playing home to Phantom of the Opera, the longest running musical of all time. Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical enjoyed at 2004 revival on the big screen, and it is on this movie version that the Las Vegas show is based.

I must admit that I'm a huge fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and in particular fashion, Phantom. It was a mandatory event during our last trip out to Vegas and it was worth every penny we spent on the tickets. From the elaborately styled theater to the famous chandelier re-creation to the music to the talent...it's quite a show. I'm not sure I would call it "family friendly"--the script takes some textual twists and there are some scarier scenes that might not be great for kids, but for the young adult and beyond, everyone will appreciate the effort that goes into the technology, pyrotechnics, and staging.

On an added note, Andrew Lloyd Webber is working on a sequel to Phantom due out in November this year called Phantom: Love Never Dies. I'm not sure where the plot will go with this, but if the music maintains the same calibre, I'm all in!!
