Default Smokey Robinson & Motown

Here is a show that I would enjoy. I was born in the seventies and got into music in the eighties but I love the old sounds including motown music. I love all sorts of music but motown is classic for sure.

The show is called Human Nature -The Ultimate Celebration of the Motown Sound presented by Smokey Robinson. The show takes place at Imperial Theatre in the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. Tickets cost $59 to $70 dollars depending on te seating you choose.

The performers are Toby Allen, Phil Burton, Andrew Tierney and Michael Tierney. Robinson got involved when the guys requested permission to perform one of his songs. They performed for Smokey and he was instantly hooked. He said...

Quote:
“I grew up with Motown where the standard for talent was so high,” said Robinson. “When I saw these guys I was blown away.”
Needless to say, he gave them the requested permission. He said that he was amazed how well they came together as a group. They don't use any special voice altering techniques that most singers use these days. They are truely talented by their own rights.

The group of guys are actually from Australia and very popular there. They have been the opening act for celebrities like Celine Dion and Michael Jackson.

Some of the songs they perform are “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” “Baby I Need Your Loving” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and they are backed by a live six-piece band.

I just heard that they have extended the contract for the show "Human Nature" by two years. The show has been going on at the Imperial Palace since the middle of last year and now it will continue on to May 2012.

I guess they have also begun recording a new studio album inspired by Las Vegas. The bummer is it will be released in Australia later this year. I don't know if we will get it or not.

Have any of you Vegas goers gotten to see this one yet? If not at least you will still have a chance. Hell maybe I will even get out there within the next two years lol!

OMG,I would love to go and see that show,my dad was a huge Motown and beach music fan.

I grew up listening to that kind of music all of the time,I love it myself to.Smokey Robinson is the king of Motown and has a beautiful voice if you ask me.

It would be emotional for me though because I would wish so bad that he could be there with me.The memories would be good though.
