Default Viva Elvis.

This show is put on by Cirque de Soliel and is watched over carefully by Elvis's widow Pricilla. She was recently in Vegas checking out the show again and had a few comments.

Quote:
“Every time I see the show, I take notes,” Priscilla told me in a one-on-one conversation before the gala. “It’s in the best shape it’s ever been since it’s started. I think it’s much tighter. They’ve added more Cirque elements. I think that the dance numbers are better and so smooth.

“We’re still working on some music. They promised to put a little more gospel in it. More gospel, that was really where his roots were. They’re going to add more of him right in the beginning. And we’re still working on the ‘Jail House Rock’ number and trying to get him in that, too. They need him in that. Even though you’re blown away by the guys walking upside down, Elvis should be there. They are working on that.

“It’s been a long journey, but it’s a wonderful tribute to him -- Cirque’s incredible celebration of Elvis. I’m thrilled a whole new generation of people, children who now come with their parents who were originally taken to see Elvis by their own parents -- that’s three generations -- are now being introduced to him. Obviously even as a young kid, there’s something that connects Elvis with children, too. We’re nurturing that generation now."

It is wonderful to see that she is so involved with the show. I am sure that as long as she does it will continue to be the best tribute show to ever honor the King of rock and roll.

I havent had a chance to see this show yet but will go the next time I am in Vegas. I think that Priscilla taking such an interest in the show and seeing that it has more of Elvis in it is really great.

He was an icon back in the day and was one heck of an entertainer and his gospel songs could run chills up and down your spine, the man was that good. But then he had a lot of soul and heart in that fantastic voice of his.

Earlier today on the history channel there was a bio on Elvis Presley. I have to admit that there are times I wish people would allow him to die. Though learning about his life, trials he went through and so on, was quite interesting.

I have to admit that I did learn a whole lot about Elvis from watching this show.

I was surprised that he was ordered by the courts (or by a judge actually) to only move his hips from right to left and not back and forth. There was so much about his life that I didn't know that was really amazing.

I am glad that I watched the show, though at the same time I really wish that impersonators and so on would allow him to rest in peace.
